Biography

     Julia Sprung is a recent graduate from the Rutgers Graduate School of Education 5-year Ed.M. program with her Master’s degree in Dance Education (K-12). Over the course of her time in this program, she has completed multiple hours of observations and fieldwork at various public schools in New Jersey. Julia had her full time student teaching internship at Columbia High School in Maplewood, New Jersey. She has also obtained her Om Factory 200-hour Vinyasa Yoga Teacher Certification, Polestar Pilates Mat certification (Level 1 and Level 2), and the National Association for Fitness Certification (NAFC) Group Fitness certification. She is currently pursuing her Polestar Pilates Reformer certification, also at Rutgers University. She is also currently pursuing her Polestar Pilates Reformer Certification (Levels 1, 2, and 3). Julia works as a group fitness, yoga, and Pilates instructor at the Rutgers Recreation gyms (New Brunswick, NJ), New York Sports Clubs (Montclair, NJ), and Real Body Fit (Clifton, NJ). She is passionate about dance education, health and wellness, nutrition, and physical fitness and is currently pursuing to further her education in these fields of expertise.

      Julia Sprung is a native of Montclair, New Jersey. She began her dance training throughout high school and began to dig deeper into her dance career. She attended the10 Hairy Legs Intensive (2016), the Abraham.In.Motion Intensive (2016), Earl Mosley’s Institute of the Arts Intensive (2013, 2014, 2015), and the Rutgers Summer Dance Conservatory program (2013). During these various programs, she worked with and performed pieces by professional choreographers including Earl Mosley, Rennie Harris, Darrell Moultrie, Deborah Wingert, Meredith Rainey, Beatrice Capote, Heidi Cruz-Austin, Juan Carlos Panuela, Ferdinand DeJesus, Sheryl Pollard Thomas, among many others. She attended the Rutgers Summer Dance Conservatory program, and decided she wanted to continue her dance training in a higher education, university setting. Julia attended and graduated from Mason Gross School of the Arts with her B.F.A. degree in dance. Throughout her undergraduate experience, she was able to explore her artistry and work with many faculty teachers and guest choreographers Julia has also performed works set on the dance students by Brian Brooks, John Evans, and Keith Thompson.
